Fur the love of leather...

We're both obsessed with leather jackets and fur coats (when it comes to furs, H rocks the fabulous fauxs whereas I go for the real deal). They're chic, effortless and even practical - the furs are perfect for keeping us warm when the city gets cold! Currently, I'm pining after a Rick Owens deconstructed fur & leather jacket from his Spring 2010 collection. It has a beautifully cut asymmetrical fur bodice with leather sleeves. Totally understated rocker chic, which is what I'm all about these days. The jacket's on display at FIT's American Beauty exhibit right now & I'm hoping that I'll be able to save my pennies (or Benjamins - who are we kidding, this is Rick Owens, not Topshop) & splurge when it hits stores in a few months! In the meantime I might go for this all leather jacket from All Saints - it's a fraction of the price & still such a great cut!

It's restaurant week here in NY which means it's time for us to get in touch with our inner foodies & try out some of the best restaurants in the world. First up this week was Mercer Kitchen, Jean-Georges Vongerichten's SoHo hotspot. With exposed brick, dim lighting & a simple but delicious menu it was the perfect place for a chic dinner with friends. A few or our fave dishes were the steamed shrimp salad & the warm chocolate cake. Delish!

Wooly Bully

Attended a party for the US launch of FarFetch.com at the Wooly this week (the new private club inside the Woolworth building that's only open for private soirees right now). Vintage Belgian wallpaper, lamps rescued from the Plaza hotel, great music, beautiful fashion people and vodka aplenty. Just the way we like it!

Livin' it up for the Long Weekend

Three-day weekend was spent bumming around the city, catching up with friends and enjoying the semi-decent weather we're having (for NY this time of year) - can't think of a better way to spend it. Loft party in Brooklyn...drunk brunch with fashion friends...working on the jewelry line...grabbing drinks at our local haunt, The Half King...bar hopping in Williamsburg...watching Sam Worthington in 3-D in "Avatar"... Life doesn't get much better than that!

Birthday Bash!

Happy Belated Bday to J! We celebrated her big day last weekend at a new skee-ball bar out in Brooklyn – Full Circle Bar. Yes skee-ball – and yes we are both only so-so, BUT we have big plans for skee-ball for this Spring (more to come on that later). We followed up the weekend festivities with dinner and drinks on her real bday during the week at Lakeside Lounge – which has an old school photobooth and we took the fabulous photos now posted in our bio. We’ve included photos from both nights – love you J!!!

Here's to 2010!!!

It's a new year which means out with the old and in with the new. New jewelry line, new blog and hopefully new men! We thought we'd start off the year right by sharing some of our new years resolutions with you.

J:

-Try speed-dating (online dating resolution from last year was an experiment that went totally awry)

-Run a half marathon

-Drink less (I think this has been on my list for 3 years running now...)

-Learn French (J'adore Paris & would love to be able to speak the language when I visit)

H:

-Shake up my routine (new locations means new people means maybe meeting a boy I'd be interested in meeting...??? logic seems right to me but we'll see...)

-Start running! I ran a marathon almost 4 years ago and haven't done much running since then. This year I want to train and run in a 5K, 10K and a 1/2 marathon by end of year. (Might have to start this one in March since it's much too cold in New York to run outside before then...)

-Learn to cook - For the holidays I asked for all sorts of cooking tools and supplies (YES I finally own pots and pans!) and now need to learn how to actually use them.
